Snowy Antler Nails [Christmas2012]

Merry Christmas!

Here are my 'seasonal' nails :)
Didn't go for the stereotypical reindeer nails (although it was VERY tempting)

Step1: Base coat, Mushroom Barry M then
sponged on Gold Foil Barry M

Step2: Using purple and black nail pens,
draw on random shaped antlers. (be creative)

Enjoy your holidays :D
(sneaky photo of myself, as I haven't posted one in ages!)

Monet inspired nails (tutorial)

So I fancied something different for my nails this week.
These are Monet inspired, looking at his water lilies, I gave it a go!

Step1: Base coat, Kiko344

Step2: Using a sponge dab freely white, yellow,
green and purple nail polish all over the nail.

-Also, if you have the Nubar 2010, put a coat
of that on top after this stage has dried!

Step3: Using a white nail pen, create dots across the base of
the nail. Then use a red nail pen and dot on top of the white.

Teenage dream (nails)

Recently I've been loving the ombre look on nails, so inspired by Katy Perry's style I used:
Barry M- Strawberry Ice Cream
Barry M- Blueberry Ice Cream

I created the ombre effect by using sponges.

DIY: studded iPhone case

Fancy putting a spiky twist onto your iPhone?
Well, I'll show you how I created my own Spike Iphone case.

I bought the white silcon cover and studs from Ebay, all for less than £5!

 1. Using a permenant marker dot your design on your silcon cover, I went for 32 studs. But if you want a triangle shape, go for it!

2. Then using a craft knife make a small cut on each dot.

3. Pierce the screw through the back of the silcon cover.

4. Then screw the main spike onto the top part of the silcon cover.

5. Put a piece of card, or plastic or whatever between your phone and the cover just to protect the glass back from the screws!

Trapped in hell (nail tutorial)

So this week I did something a little more 'arty'.
I named it 'trapped in hell' because the background colours kind of remind me of fire and then the use of stripes on top just remind me of being caged in.

Nail polishes used (left to right:)
Rimmel Matte Finish polish
Art Club NA71 Gold Hologram
Art Club NA66 Rio de Oro
Kiko 279
Kiko 280
Barry M 303 Bright Purple
China Glaze 995 Brownstone

1. First start with your base colour, the darkest one and just paint on the bottom of your nail.

2. Layer the lighter colours towards the tip of your nails.

3. Using your sponging tool blend the colours together.

4. Wait for your nails to dry, the paint the stripes on top.

5. I found that a matt top coat looks really good!

Half stripes

Recently I've been focusing on quick, simple nail art because I've just been so busy.

Here I used:
Essie- Angora Cardi
Models Own- White nail art pen

Simple stripe.

Went for something simplistic this week, used American Apparel's Butter
and a nail art pen bought from Ebay.
Loving the American Apparel butter colour at the moment.
It's the perfect type of pastel, far better than Barry M's Ice Cream Yellow.

Team GB nails.

As the Olympics draws to an end, I thought it was only right to dedicate this weeks nails to our awesome country!
We've done so well this Olympics, and I don't know about you guys but the Olympics has definitely inspired me to go back to the gym haha!

Now, I never ever have the ability to just have plain, normal nails. They have to have something crazy about them. So did I just do normal Union Jack coloured nails!?
Urmm, no.
Multi-coloured union jack nails? Yes please.

And also, the closing ceremony is tonight. and I am CRAZY excited for the Spice Girls performance. Literally my iPod is embarrassing right now.
Childhood memories for the win.

OJ Nails. American Apparel Neon Review

Ever since the AA Neon polishes came out I've been meaning to buy them.
I went into AA the other day and saw the orange one on sale for £3.50 so I just had to buy it, haha. SOML.

Now, I'm going to completely honest here. I usually love loud nail polishes and I'm not scared of trying out garish designs. But the American Apparel neon polish was slightly over-powering for me. It was crazy bright!! Having said that, I really want to get the yellow and purple one as I think they'd be quite pretty together with a gradient tone.

Easy to apply, took about 2 coats.
Lasts about 4-5 days easily
Easy application, not streaky

They are crazy bright, almost glow in the dark!
Prepare for the distraction! Haha
They did take a while to dry, which was quite frustrating

Take a look at the other neon colours American Apparel has to offer!

Who wouldn`t want to be a princess?

American Apparel in-store have a nail polish sale, definitely go check it out!
Some of the polishes are £3.50 and a couple are £1!! So go stock up!

Went for a girly design, think fairytales and princesses :D

(L)American Apparel- Butter
(R)American Apparel- L'Espirt

I put a little bit of glitter on the tips

If you live in London, DEFINITELY go take a trip to Westfield-Stratford.
Go to the Kiko store, all nail polishes are £1.50
They have all the colours of the rainbow!
And their polishes are good quality as well.

Literally in heaven

Van Gogh inspired nails

I was feeling incredibly artistic and decided to create a little masterpiece on my nails... as you do.

Using inspiration from:

Step1: Dark Blue base coat

Step2: Using a nail brush paint white wispy clouds
Step3: Then use light blue on top of the clouds

Step4: Create stars using yellow nail polish

Step5: Using black nail polish, paint the castle in the foreground.

Ta-da! Finished piece!
Haha, I spend so much time on my nails, but they're super pretty to look at, no?
